New York Vignettes: Chapter 1

This was part of my attempt at a graphic novel about life in New York City. I wanted the initial chapter to introduce the reader to the idiosyncrasies of New York, to fully immerse the reader in the city’s brand of chaos, from bodegas, to subways, to homeless people, to the characters you could encounter at any given moment. I also wanted to illustrate the feeling of watching it all from the outside and questioning it: “How the hell did all of this happen? How did I get here? Is this one giant accident?”
