Mathematical Research Data Initiative, Issue 13

This illustration is for the 13th edition of MaRDI’s quarterly newsletter. This newsletter described different types of user personas who frequently interact with MaRDI’s online research portal—illustrated here by a swirling physical portal behind the users. The user personas are a mathematics researcher, a PhD student, a computational biologist, a professor, and a math hobbyist, though the PhD student is not pictured here. The client asked for a couple of the personas to be gender-neutral, so I chose to base the mathematics researcher on myself at age 13, when I really strove for a more androgynous look.
