It Is What It Is
I draw a comic series that appears monthly in the Brooklyn publication The Red Hook Star-Revue. It Is What It Is focuses mainly on New York happenings, ranging from the comedic and chaotic to the surreal and pensive. Some of it is a general commentary on facets of New York life that are nearly universally relatable, such as being accosted in the street, and some of it is more personal to my life and perspectives. Some of it is based on real events and some of it is stories I’ve created with fictional characters. Either way, I always ground it in New York (I count south Florida as culturally a part of New York).
