Bodega Cat

“I’m the ears and eyes of the whole damn neighborhood,” proclaims Cookie, the disillusioned black and white (hence the name Cookie) cat who occupies a bodega in a sleepy neighborhood deep in Brooklyn. This volume follows her day-to-day observations on the eccentric and colorful characters who frequent the store. The bodega is where many of their life dramas unfold, often stemming from misguided and shallow attempts to cope with the loneliness and frustration of their lives. It is The Big Apple in a nutshell, from the humorous and absurd, to the poignant and tragic.
