Am I Home Yet?
This zine is a deconstruction of the concept of home, an exploration of what elements add up to foster that sense of home, and what happens to a person when those elements are removed. It is loosely based on my own experience; upon returning to my native New York City after living abroad, I was confronted by a level of reverse culture shock and alienation that I hadn’t expected. I wanted to visually explore this space of floating, ungrounded, between worlds, trying to find a sense of home through people and places, in both present-day experiences and memories.
Two drawings from this zine received American Illustration 45 Awards.
